Here is a rally report from one of the ICR riders:
Bud,

Thanks for letting us know about the Clemson Cafe' Racer's ride this weekend. What a neat bunch of guys. The ride Saturday morning went well. I played tag with Cloner on his 900ss, Rensell on 1999/R1and Tom (Clemson Cafe racer) on a Suzuki "Burgman" scooter. No shit, really a scooter and Tom rode the wheels off of it. His primary and back up steeds were down and all he had was the scooter. It's a 650cc water cooled twin with small tires. The guy smoked a Hayabusa on the Skyway and if you saw him ride you might understand. Once the speeds got up close to 90 mph he would fall back. We rode to the Skyway and had lunch at the Pigsaw Inn. Linked up with the late crew and split into groups and had our ride down some decent roads I never ran. We came back through Highlands and Tom said he would buy the beer at the "last chance" road side bar. I normally frown hard at drinking and riding but it was just for one beer about 10 minutes from the camp site. Only one squirrel died in the making of this days ride. God rest his poor little soul.

Once back at the camp site we met up with George on his Bee-mah and the rest of the Clemson Crew. They prepared some smoked wings and a low country boil that was the... "cats ass" cooter and hooters, all 12 of the little bity titties.

Sunday, George, Rensell and myself departed first, heading to Suches. We ran 28 to Warwoman to Helen Richard Russell to 180 then into Suches for a tuna special at T.W.O. that was partially cooked and seasoned with fresh herbs. The salty corn chips included made a very tasty and healthy lunch. George and Rensell took off and headed the long way home. I chased some of the Rogue Riders I normally ride with down and hung out did 180/129/60 route and called it a day. The day still required taking the same route bach to the Clemson Camp site in South Carolina. Once there the folks tried to feed and water me again but I needed to get on the road to get home to see the kids at a decent hour.

What a Zen like moment riding the 996 solo by myself on a breath taking route through Georgia-South Carolina. The big twin is not the fastest nor the lightest but it does seem to talk to you if you listen. It really finished the day off nice. I remembered why I ride today. I'll look forward to the next opportunity to take advantage of another Clemson Cafe' Racer ride.
